UDY, IONA G. – August 14, 1909 – April 15, 2003

WASHINGTON TERRACE – Iona G. Udy, 93, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003 in Ogden from natural causes.

She was born August 15, 1909 in Malad, Idaho, a daughter of Eli and Ann Eliza Thomas Goddard. She was reared and educated in Malad, where she lived and worked until the time of her marriage.

Iona married Eugene S. Udy on July 1, 1939 in Brigham City, Utah. They moved to Ogden where they resided for the rest of their lives. Eugene passed away December 15, 1995.

She was a member of the Washington Terrace 3rd Ward, where she served as a visiting teacher for many years.

Iona was a very compassionate person, caring for her aging mother for several years as well as helping her sister who had health problems. She was like a second mother to her nieces Ana Lee, Beverly and Patsy.

She is survived by one brother, Don Goddard of Malad, Idaho and three nieces Ana Lee Williams, Beverly Greene and Patsy Deschamps.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary Saturday morning from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.

Interment in the Malad City Cemetery in Malad, Idaho.
