Ida Madalene Stein Gray Orf, 78, of 353 N. Main, Malad, died November 21, 1978 in the Oneida County Hospital after a short illness.
She was born May 26, 1900 in Greede, Colorado; the daughter of Emil Gottlieb Gustav and Ida Sophie Junge Stein.
She married Bryan Michael Orf Nov. 17, 1919 in pueblo, Colorado. He died April 26, 1972.
Mrs. Orf was a registered nurse and had received her training at Parkview Hospital in pueblo, Colorado. She was a member of the Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one son and two daughters: M. Gray Orf, Pueblo, Colorado; Mrs. Darrell (Ellen) Swartz, Malad, Idaho; Mrs. Lois Hansen, Laurel, Montana; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters; Mrs. Ester Albertson, pueblo, Colorado; Mrs. Ellen Walters, Anthony, Kansas.
Funeral Services
Funeral services were held November 22, 1978 at the Benson Funeral Home, Counselor Joe Daniels, officiating.
The family prayer was offered by Bryan G. Schwartz and the program during the services included: Iris Blaisdell, prelude, postlude and accompaniment music; Maurice Schwartz offered the invocation.
Stacey Lee Schwartz sang a vocal solo and Anthony Schwartz, life sketch. Norman Jaussi was the speaker and Mrs. Blaisdell presented musical selections. The services were closed with the benediction by Dana Schroeder.
Concluding Rites
Concluding rites were held at the Malad City Cemetery where Bishop Darrell Schwartz gave the dedicatory prayer.
Flower arrangements were cared for by members of the 4th Ward Relief Society, Erma Evans, president.
Honorary bearers: Tyler Schwartz, Scott Orf, Kirk Schroeder, Terry Orf, Donald Orf, Thomas Orf and Todd Orf.
Bryan Schwartz, Anthony Schwartz, Maurice Schwartz, William Gray Orf, Dana Schroeder and Bud John were the casket bearers.
