Ida Juliene Durrant

Ida Juliene “Julie” Durrant passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 14, 2011 after a brave struggle against congestive heart failure.

She was born in Malad, Idaho on August 15, 1938 to Parley DeMour and June Clark John. Julie attended Bear River High School and after marrying Dell Ekins and raising her family in California and Idaho, became a respiratory therapist. She worked in her chosen profession for over 20 years until her retirement in 1998.

Her greatest accomplishments were her nine children, 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Dell Ekins and Verl Durrant and her son, David Ekins. Julie is survived by her children, Chris (Emestina) Ekins; Kevin (Shaylyn) Ekins; Darcie (Kelly) Johnson; Sami Durrant, and Dan Durrant, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her four brothers and her four sisters.

We will all miss her very much but will draw inspiration daily from her positive outlook through adversity, her family devotion, and never quit attitude.

There will be a viewing at the Beaver Dam, Utah, LDS Church in Beaver Dam, Utah, March 21st from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral services at noon.
