Hyrum Peterson, Jr.

Malad – Hyrum Peterson Jr., 86, of Malad, died Thursday, Dec 23, in the Oneida County Hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1907, in Samaria, Idaho, Idaho, a son of Hyrum and Mary Hill Peterson.

He was raised and educated in Idaho, Utah and California. He later received vocational training at the University of Utah. He married Mary Adele Evans on June 10, 1930 in Salt Lake City and the marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple, June 29, 1988.

Mr. Peterson was employed for many years as an electrician, and had worked in the Intermountain area, as well as Wyoming and California. He was member of the LDS Church, was a volunteer fireman, member of the F.O.E., and members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 449.

He is survived by wife, Mary Adele Peterson of Malad; three sons and spouses; David H. and Anne Peterson of Santa Maria, California; Burke E. and Celia Peterson of Midvale, Utah; J. Kim and Patty Peterson of Malad; one daughter and spouse; Cindy and Fred Waldron of West Jordan, Utah; 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; two sisters Helena Simmons and Leola Boley. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec 28, at 11 a.m. in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home 132 W. 300 N., Malad. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 7-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
