Helena Beth Sasser Valentine Price, 13 October 1919

DOWNEY – Helena Beth Sasser Valentine Price, 77, of Downey, passed away October 18, 1996 in Salt Lake City of Heart complications.

She was born October 13, 1919 in Holbrook, ID, a daughter of Luther Blaine and Helena Michaelis Sasser. She grew up and was educated in Holbrook and Malad, and was a graduate of Malad High School.

She married Max A. Valentine February 15, 1938 in the Logan, UT LDS temple. Mr. Valentine passed away November 18, 1972.

For many years Beth had owned and operated a hair dressing business, and had also worked as a nurse’s aide in the surrounding area.

She married Earl L. Price, April 8, 1988 in the Logan LDS Temple. Since then, they had resided in Downey.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had served in many capacities, including a mission to Denver, CO, 1984-85.

She is survived by her husband, Earl, of Downey, three sons and spouses, Lee and Verla Valentine of Boise; Mark Valentine of Sioux Falls, SD; Kim and Sheri Valentine of Kearns, UT; one stepson, Dean Price of Pocatello; one stepson-in-law, Cleone J. Hone of Boise; two stepdaughters and spouses, Connie Ray and Larry Bowman of Granger, Indiana; Kathleen and Michael Austin of Boise; 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; one brother, Blaine and wife, Ardeena Sasser of Pingree; and three sisters, Nellie Gleed of Provo, UT; Mrs. Eph (Ethel) Hawkins of Murray, UT; and Fern Williams of Beaver, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Max, one stepdaughter, Dorene Price Hone, five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held October 22, 1996 in the Downey LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Lavern Brim officiating. Burial will be in the Downey City Cemetery.
