GIBBS, HAZEL JANE ORGILL, March 9, 1895 – June 20, 1974

Mrs. Hazel Jane Orgill Gibbs, age 79, died of a stroke in a Logan, Utah nursing home.

Mrs. Gibbs was born March 9, 1895 at Portage, UT, a daughter of William and Almira Hall Gibbs. She was married to James Hyrum Gibbs, March 20, 1913 at Malad, and the marriage was solemnized Oct. 7, 1915 in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Gibbs died Dec. 25, 1971.

Mrs. Gibbs received her education in the Portage schools and lived there and at McCammon. An active member of the LDS Church, she had served as president of the Relief Society, YWMIA and Washakie (Lamanite) Branch Relief Society and was a Sunday School teacher.

Surviving are five sons and two daughters, William Leon, Lorin Ladell, Porgage; Royston O., Hunter, UT; Leo DeLos, North Salt Lake; Don V., Malad; Mrs. Devere (Velda) Harris, Portage; Mrs. Jay (Lola Mae) Maughan, Wellsville, UT; 30 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Portage LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Douglas Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in the Portage Cemetery.
