Harold Henson

Harold was born on June 13, 1931 and passed away peacefully on February 15, 2010 at the age of 78.Born in Franklin County, Georgia to his mother, Beulah LeCroy Henson, and his father Dwayne Bush Henson, Harold was the oldest of five children. Harold lived in Franklin County until he joined the military in 1948 and faithfully served his country in the Korean War and was later honorably discharged. Harold married Sharon Thorn in 1965 and they had their daughter, Pamela, in 1966. Sharon and Harold were later divorced.

Harold’s later years were spent in Layton, Utah and were filled with family and grandchildren. He spent his last five years living in Malad, Idaho, where he spent most of his time visiting friends. Harold loved neighborhood Barbeques, lunches at the Senior Center, and attending church with his friends at the Victory Baptist Church.

Everybody who knew Harold loved him; he was filled with laughter and love. Harold was an amazing man and words cannot express the love felt for him, he will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family.

Harold is preceded in death by his infant son Edward Henson, his mother and father, his brother T.H. Henson, his brother-in-law, Troy Owens, his sister Laverne Henson, his niece Penny Owens Mann and his nephew Walt Jr. Henson. Harold is survived by his daughter, his sister Ruth Owens, his brother Walter Henson, his grandchildren, Kelsei Martinez and Gage Brown and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 23, 2010at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral home 132 W. 300 N., malad. Friends may visit with the Henson family on Tuesday prior to service from 10:30-11:45 am.
