Hannah Swenson Died Wednesday

Hannah Hughes Swenson, widow of Isaac Swenson of Spanish Fork, Utah, died at the Oneida County hospital at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, of a heart ailment.

She was born in Spanish Fork, Utah, August 14, 1890, the daughter of John B. and Katherine Banks Hughes, She was reared and educated in Spanish Fork and was a lifelong resident of that community until she moved to Malad some 6 years ago to live with her son, Mont, and help rear his family after the death of his wife.

She married the late Isaac Swenson in the L.D.S. Temple in 1911. For 20 years after their marriage, she was a partner with her husband in the operation and management of the Angelus Thetre(sic). After his death in 1932, she continued to operate the business until 1937.

Mrs. Swenson has been an active civic and community leader in Spanish Fork, having served for many years in the American Legion Auxiliary, an organization which she helped organize and served as the charter president.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters: Jack H. Swenson, Spanish Fork; Mont A. Swenson, Malad; Frank I. Swenson, Los Angeles; Mrs. Betty Watts, Gunnison, Utah and Mrs. Katherine Cohee, Lynnwood, California, Also 14 grandchildren, including the three sons of her son, Mont, Alan, Bill and Bob Swenson, of Malad, whom she has helped rear since they lost their mother, and the following brothers: R. S. Hughes, Spanish Fork; Frank L. Hughes, Spanish Fork and Lenn B. Hughes, Los Angeles.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct 18th at 2 p.m. in the Spanish Fork L.D.S. Third Ward chapel. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
