Funeral Rites For Mrs. A. L. Anderson

Funeral services for Mrs. Hannah E. Josephson Anderson, 73, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Malad L.D.S. Second ward with Bishop A. G. Willie in charge.

Prayer at the home was given by Isaac Josephson, brother of Mrs. Anderson. The opening prayer was given by Dan Price. Mrs. Anderson’s life history, written by her was read by Bishop John Roderick of the Pleasantview ward. A tribute was composed and read by Mrs. Walter M. Davis; also a poem written by Mrs. Mary Rose Jones in honor of Mrs. Anderson was read by Betty Lou South. Two numbers were given by the Singing Mother’s group of which Mrs. Anderson was a member. Speakers were J. M. Isaacson and Thomas W. Richards. Ruel Ipsen sang a solo and Wm. Rutter gave the closing prayer.

Burial was in the Pleasantview cemetery with Dave Hughes dedicating the grave.

Mrs. Ruel Ipsen had charge of the flower girls.

Mrs. Anderson died at the Oneida hospital Wednesday (4 Mar. 1951) after a 10-day illness following cerebral hemorrhage.

She was born in St. John Nov. 27, 1877, a daughter of Charles and Anna Isaacson Josephson. Her lifetime was spent in or near Malad. She was married to Andrew Lars Anderson in the Logan, Utah L.D.S. temple, Jan. 18, 1899. A lifetime member of the L.D.S. church, Mrs. Anderson was active in Relief Society work. Mr. Anderson preceded her in death. April 9, 1948.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Lyman A. Anderson, Mrs. Ethel Atkinson and Mrs. Myrtle South all of Malad, and Arnold C. Anderson, Buhl; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Goodliff, Rexburg, Mrs. Mary Reed, Malad; five brothers, Lorenzo Josephson, Caldwell, Idaho, Isaac Josephson, St. Ephriam Josephson, Driggs; Joseph Josephson, Malad. 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the Pleasantview cemetery under the direction of the Malad Funeral Service.

Those attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Ephriam Josephson, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Josephson, Driggs, Ida.; Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Josephson, Rexburg; Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Josephson, Mrs. Clem Thompson and Mrs. Charles Short of St. Anthony; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald King and family, Logan; Mr. and Mrs. John Schwartz, Downey; Mr. and Mrs. Del Schwanveldt, Preston.

Malad – Funeral services for Mrs. Hannah E. Josephson Anderson, 73 will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Malad Second Ward chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with Bishop A. G. Willie officiating. Mrs. Anderson died Wednesday at a local hospital following a short illness.

She was born in St. John, near Malad Nov. 27, 1877, a daughter of Charles and Anna Isaacson Josephson. She spent her entire life in Malad. She was married to Andrew Lars Anderson Jan. 18, 1899 in the Logan Temple. She had been a lifetime member of the Church, active in the Relief Society. Her husband died April 9, 1948.

Surviving are four children. Lyman A. Anderson, Mrs. Ethel Atkinson, and Mrs. Myrtle South all of Malad and Arnold C. Anderson, Buhl, Ida.; two sisters Mrs. Annie Goodliff, Rexburg, and Mrs. Mary Reed, Malad; five brothers, Lorenzo Josephson, Caldwell; Joseph Josephson, Malad; Isaac Josephson, St. Anthony; Ephriam, and Carl Josephson, Driggs, Ida.

Burial will be in Pleasantview Cemetery under the direction of the Malad Funeral Service. Friends may call at the family home until time of service.
