Gwen Seamons Hadley

Gwen Seamons Hadley 92, longtime resident of Swan Lake Idaho passed away on April 6th at Heritage Home in Preston Idaho. Gwen was born in Preston on February 11, 1926 to Duane and Alice Seamons.

Gwen graduated from Preston High in 1943. During war time, she moved to Salt Lake City and worked at Clearfield Navel Supply Depot. She moved back to Preston and worked at the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Co. During this time, she met Robert Hadley and where married August 24, 1946 and moved to Swan Lake. Gwen always said Swan Lake was a great place to raise a family and she appreciated the kindness and friendship in the community.

When Gwen was older she got the chance to work in Preston at the American Land Title Co. She worked there for 23 years retiring in 2000. At that time, she was the oldest Title Officer in the state of Idaho. She loved working and it was some of the best years of her life.

Gwen is survived by her son Kent (Marsha Lish) of Arimo, Marsha (Brian) Ryder of Portland, Janet (Grant) Sorenson of Salt Lake City, Betty Jo (Dan) of Preston, her brother Donald Seamons(Carol), and sister Linda Griggs. Gwen was preceded in death by her husband Robert and daughter Maryanne, her parents and two sisters. Gwen has 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Access Hospice and Heritage Senior Living for the care and kindness to our mother. Special thanks to Thelma for all her love and care she gave to Gwen.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12 noon in the Swan Lake LDS Chapel. Friends may visit with family at the Church Wednesday 6-8 and Thursday 10:30-11:30 a.m.
