Guy Servoss, age 98, died Friday; funeral Tues.

Guy Servoss, 98, died Friday in the Oneida County Nursing Home after a short illness and funeral service was held Tuesday at the Benson Funeral Home.

Mr. Servoss was born March 1, 1879, at Belvedere, Nebraska, a son of Freeman and Frances Kelley Servoss.

He married Alice Child on July 2, 1896, in Nebraska. Their marriage later was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died June 20, 1945. He married Ann Holley in 1947. She died April 8, 1969. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served as bishop of the Malad Second Ward from 1940 to 1944. He and his wife served a mission to Hanford, Calif., in 1944-45. He was a farmer and a rancher who came to Malad in 1918.

Survivors include one son and three daughters J. Arthur Servoss, Malad City; Mrs. Dorothy Glad, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Frankces Blood, Ogden; Mrs. Doris Bingham, Clearfield, Utah; 18 grandchildren; several great-and great-great-grandchildren.

Bishop Darrell Swartz officiated at the services. At the Benson Funeral Home, family prayer was offered by Don Willie. Chapel numbers included prelude and postlude music, Pearl Stuart; invocation, Bishop Jesse Hughes; vocal solo, Eldon D. Corbridge; obituary, James Hadlock; talk, President S.A. Hendricks; benediction, Lynn Alder. Accompanist was Trudy Ward.

Concluding rites were at the Ogden City Cemetery where Spence Horsley offered the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were carried by the Malad Fourth Ward Relief Society, Elaine Castleton, president. Casket bearers were Jack Servoss, Rick Servoss, John Servoss, Michael Andra, Dale Hunter, James Hadlock.

Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
