Gloria Smith Kent

Gloria Smith Kent, long-time Marsh Valley resident passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021, at the age of 88. She was born on August 1, 1932, to Almeda May Hancock Smith and Clinton Ellis Smith in their home in Arimo, Idaho. She was the second child of four. She graduated from Arimo High school. She married Sidney Wesley Kent on June 1, 1950, in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Arimo. They had 5 children.

Gloria was a farmer’s wife and helped on the farm. She was involved in many organizations. She was in Relief Society Presidencies, MIA Presidencies, Marsh Valley Hospital Auxiliary, and a Red Cross instructor. She had many talents: oil painting pictures, crocheting and quilts. She did a lot of genealogy and charity work.

She is survived by: Clifford (Melanie) Kent, Arimo; Vickie (Jeff) Gunter, McCammon; Connie (Lyle) Hansen, Delta, Utah; Tammy Avery, McCammon; Brad (Lori) Kent, Arimo. Also 27 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, a sister Nadene Evans, (Montana), Darlene Nelson, (McCammon), and a sister-in-law Maxine Smith (Arimo).

Preceded in death by husband Sidney Kent, her parents, 1 brother, 1 grandson, and 1 great grandson.

There will be no viewing and the service will be a private family service. It will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Arimo, at 12:00. Burial will be at the Arimo Cemetery following the service.
