Glenn was born November 24th, 1954, in Ogden, Utah to Wallace A, and Afton Lowe Smith. He was reared in Ogden, graduating from Ben Lomond High in 1973. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and in 1975 was called to serve a mission in the NY, New York City mission. During his mission, he was called to serve with a select few missionaries to teach the Jewish community. Glenn enjoyed learning about the Jewish faith, and always had a deep love and respect for people of other faiths.

In 1978, he married Carol Hancock, they later divorced.

In May of 1993, he met the love of his life, Tami. They were married on January 21st, 1994, and enjoyed 30 wonderful years together, before his passing.

He worked in retail management for over 40 years. He had a strong work ethic, and never asked anything of an employee, that he wasn’t willing to do himself. More often than not, he would work side by side to complete any task. He earned the love and respect of hundreds of coworkers over the years. Upon retirement, he took a job at Thomas Market in Malad, where he loved interacting with the people of the Malad community. He knew many people’s favorite ice cream flavors and would make sure to keep them up to date on sales. He always went out of his way to help a customer get the products they loved.

Glenn and Tami spent 22 years in their home in Roy, Utah where they reared their family. In January of 2016, they bought a log cabin on Malad Summit, where he spent his last 8 years. It was his Heaven on earth.

His favorite hobbies were fly fishing, tying flies, bird hunting, gardening, going for drives in the mountains with Tami and their dear friend Mary, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a very talented pianist, writing much of his own music.
