George Roscoe Gambles

GAMBLES, GEORGE ROSCOE, February 10, 1902 – August 22, 1974

Funeral services were held in the Swan Lake LDS Ward Chapel for George Roscoe Gambles, age 72, who died in the marsh Valley Hospital, Downey, of natural causes.

Among his survivors is a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lois) Hess, Malad.

Mr. Gambles was born Feb. 10, 1902 at Swan Lake, a son of William Dixon and Louisa Nellie Croshaw Gambles. He married Thelma Brim, Dec. 24, 1924 at Logan. She died July 24, 1954. He married Ruby Hansen Pratt, March 28, 1956 in the Logan LDS Temple.

A farmer, Mr. Gambles was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as an MIA superintendent; one of seven presidents of Seventies Quorum in the Portneuf Stake; High Priest group leader; Stake High Counselor; Logan Temple officiator.

Surviving are his widow; five sons, three daughters; a step daughter; two brothers; four sisters; 37 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
