George Parker Spahr, of Pocatello, died Thursday, July 28, 1994 at his home.

He was born April 17, 1915 in Malad.

He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in the air brake department for more than 30 years.

As a young man he was a terrific boxer and won the Golden Gloves boxing award.

He had a great love of the out-of-doors and enjoyed camping with his family.

In 1980 he came to live with his son, Dana, and his family until his death.

He is survived by his former wife, Pauline Spahr, Pocatello; his sister, Elsie Newman, Rupert; one daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Elbert Tolman, Richland, Wash; two sons and daughter-in-law, Roy E. Spahr, Pocatello; Dana and Sally Spahr, Pocatello; and seven grandchildren, Tami Sutclife, Mont Tolman, Jason Tolman, Deana Richardson, Brian Spahr, Stephanie Malan, Travis Spahr; and six great-grandchildren.

It was his wish to be cremated and his ashes scattered in a special spot that he loved on the Portneuf River.
