Funeral Wednesday for George Dalton

Funeral services for George Alfred Dalton, 76, who died Sunday (17 Jan 1960) at Pocatello after a long illness, were held Wednesday at the Malad First Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Clendon Bybee of the Pocatello 26th ward officiating.

Prayer at the home was offered by J. Guy Gleed. At the chapel, prelude and postlude music was played by Charlotte Evans. The invocation was offered by Thos. D. Evans and the benediction by Newell Nish. Speakers were Bishop Bybee, who read the obituary; Bishop Morgan Harris and Wm. H. Rutter. Jenkin Palmer sang a solo and Leora Brown and Iris Barker, a duet. Myra Jean John was accompanist.

Morgan Budge offered the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were
carried by friends and relatives assisted by the First Ward Relief
Society. Casket bearers were Reed Madsen, Clifford Madsen, Willard Facer, Francis Facer, Joe Goddard and Mart Goddard.

He was born July 18, 1883, at Willard, Utah, to William A. and Mary Jane Williams Dalton. He married Sara Jane McKay on Dec. 11, 1908, at Malad. She died 25 years ago.

He was a member of the LDS Church and a member of the Malad Eagles Lodge. He moved from Willard to Malad in 1901 and to Pocatello in 1942.

Survivors include one son, Joe Dalton, Pocatello; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother and one sister, Mrs. Alfred Woolslayer, North Bend, Ore., and Eugene Dalton, McCammon.

Burial was in the Malad city cemetery under the direction of the Malad Funeral Home.
