Son of William and Elizabeth Hardwick Arbon
Fred Arbon (as he was called) came to Utah with his parents when but a child, in the year of 1868. They settled in Skull Valley on a farm. After working on the farm for four years the family moved to Richmond, Cache County. They were not content there so they moved back to Skull Valley. After being gone four years it was a struggle to start over. Grandfather William Arbon lost his eyesight so it became necessary for the family to move to Grantsville. With so much moving the children were deprived of educational opportunities and received little schooling.
Fred Arbon had a clear mind to help in his dealings with people. He hauled freight from Salt Lake to Grantsville stopping at a cave in Garfield to camp at night. Fred married Mary Bell in the Salt Lake Temple, September 20, 1893. Thirteen children were born to them. Walter Frederick, Marguerite, Lula or Lulia, Alvina Rachel, William Daley, Vera Jane, Pearl Elizabeth, Myrtle, Ivy, George Lewis, Hyrum Wesley, daughter Arbon, and Mary Irene. Fred worked for the City of Grantsville many years. He served in the City council for two years under Tony Williams as Mayor.
Fred died in Grantsville at the age of 74 and was buried in the Grantsville Cemetery.
