Floyd Robert Hess, 83, of Malad, died Sunday, June 14, 1992 in the Oneida County Hospital.
He was born November 10, 1908, in Malad, a son of John L. and Ida Isabelle Nish Hess. He grew up and was educated in Malad, and as a young man had worked on the family farm in St. John.
He married Nellie I. Thomas March 26, 1928, in Pocatello. The first two years of their marriage they lived in Colfax, Washington. Since 1930, they had resided in Malad, where he had a farm and ranching operation. He had also trucked grain and flour for several years.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was active in community services. He had served as a trustee on the Elkhorn school board, was a board member of the MVI, president of the Oneida County Grain Growers, member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, member of the Idaho Cattlemen’s Association and president of Oneida County Farm.
