Former Oneida Resident Dies In California

Richmond, Calif.–Mrs. Fay Scott Stallard of Richmond, Calif. passed away in a hospital in San Pablo, Calif., on September 26, at the age of 70 years. She was a native of Mt. Pleasant, Utah, and had lived in California for the past 43 years.

Mrs. Stallard served overseas as a Red Cross volunteer nurse dur-(sic) World War I. She was the first such volunteer from Oneida County.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Peterson of San Francisco, and Mrs. Barbara Jean Borst of Richmond; a son, M/Sgt. Edward G. Cross of Concord, California; three sisters: Miss Mabel Scott and Mrs. Genevieve Scott, both of Malad, and Mrs. Isabelle Chantland of Whittier, Calif.; a brother Nathan Scott of Ketchum, Idaho. Mrs. Stallard is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted in the Civic Center Chapel on Saturday, September 30 at 11:00 A.M., by the Beacon chapter No.383 Order of the Eastern Star of Richmond, Calif.

Burial was in the San Bruno Military Cemetery with full military honors.

Her sisters attended the services.
