ESTER KATHERINE MUNSEE WILLIAMS
Funeral services for Mrs. Ester (Essie) Katherine Munsee Williams, 78, who died suddenly Tuesday morning Apr. 25, 1967 of natural causes will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Malad 2nd LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Max King officiating.
She was born October 4, 1888 at Salt Lake City, a daughter of Peter C. and Katherine Eliza Bailey Munsee. She married David Joseph Williams, March 25, 1908 at Ogden and the marriage was solemnized July 29, 1941 in the Logan LDS Temple:
She received her education in Salt Lake City, Lucin, Utah, and Bingham Canyon. Her father was a railroader and miner.
After marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Williams lived in Samaria six years. She was converted to the LDS church when they moved to Daniels in 1914 where they operated a ranch. They came to Malad in 1927 and Mr. Williams was in the trucking business.
She was an active member of the LDS Church, was a Relief Society visiting teacher in Malad and the Daniels Wards and was the first Primary president in the Daniels Ward.
Survivors include her husband, Malad; one son and five daughters: Berton E. Williams, Malad; Mrs. James (Katie) Hughes, Ogden; Mrs. Marion (Reta) Sorensen, Mrs. LeRoy (Margie) Atkinson, both of East Garland; Mrs. Lenn (Velda) Jones, Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Clarence (Norma) (Forsberg,. Riverside, Utah; 24 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters: Frank B. Munsee, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Hal (Margie) Leffler, Pocatello; Mrs: Florence Cottis and Mrs. Al (Eva) Sanchez, both of Park City, Utah, and Mrs. Vera Mower. Talmadge Utah.
Friends may call at the Benson. Funeral Home Thursday evening and Friday prior to service.
Burial will be in the Malad City cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
