Our loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ernest Alfred Filion, 80 passed away September 27, 1999.

He was born October 22, 1918 in Lead, South Dakota to Aldred Ernest and Glennie Louise Pike Filion. He married Phyllis Hughes May 17, 1941 in Malad, Idaho, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was a member of the LDS Church. Retired from Kennecott Copper after 30 years of service. He also was owner operator of Ernie=s Bike and Lawn Mower Shop. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and traveling, and was a member of the Silver Streak Club. Most of all he loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife; children, Donald (Janet) Filion and Louise (Johnny) Shepherd; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Howard; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, many from Malad.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 1, 1999 at the Pleasant Green Chapel. Interment at Valley View Memorial Park. The funeral was under the direction of Peel Funeral Home.
