IDAHO FALLS, Id. – Erma Urban Evans, 88, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 1999, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of complications following surgery.

She was born June 24, 1911, in Pierce, Nebraska, a daughter of Joseph and Emma Belik Urban. She was the oldest of three daughters.

On May 12, 1933, Erma married Melvon APete@ Francis Evans in Nebraska. They resided in Nebraska for the first few years of their marriage and then moved to Driggs, Idaho; Logan, Utah; and later Malad, Idaho. In September of 1964, Erma and Pete moved to Ogden, Utah, where Erma resided until September 1999, when she moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She thoroughly enjoyed sports and spent many hours watching television. She especially enjoyed football and basketball. Her favorite team was the Utah Jazz and her favorite players were Karl Malone, John Stockton, Jeff Hornacek, Michael Jordan and Steve Young.

The staff at Washington Terrace Nursing Center in Ogden took good care of AGranny@ during her two-year stay there.

Surviving are one daughter and three sons, Devon APete@ (Kay) Evans, Ogden, Utah; Sharon (Raub) Meyer, Seattle, Washington; Paul (Dixie) Evans, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Bill (Romie) Evans, San Jose, California; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Erma is also survived by one sister, Ethel Prange, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 30, at Lindquist=s Ogden Mortuary, Ogden, Utah. Interment was in the Brigham City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 1733 South 1100 East, Salt Lake City, Utah, or to a charity of your choice.
