Emma M. Thomas, (1867)

MRS. THOMAS S. THOMAS PASSED AWAY THIS WEEK

Mrs. Emma M. Thomas, 75, died at her home in Malad on October 6, 1942 from a heart ailment.

Mrs. Thomas was born April, 1867 in Montpelier, Idaho, a daughter of Peter A. and Gare___

Petersen.  She came to Malad with her parents in 1870 and has been a resident of this valley since that time.

She was married to Thomas S. Thomas at Malad in November, 1866.

She was a member of the LDS Church, the Oneida County council of War Mothers of America, and the Native Daughters of Idaho Pioneers.

Mrs. Thomas was the mother of ten children, nine of whom survive.  They are Mrs. Margaret Evans, Malad; Dr. Thomas S. Thomas, Morristown, NJ; Pete Thomas, Malad; Mrs. Emma M. Thomas, Pocatello, ID; Dan S. Thomas, Ogden, UT; Mrs. Darlene T. Price, Twin Falls, ID; Evan S. Thomas, Provo, UT; John Warren Thomas, Malad; Melba T. Jones, Couer d’Alene, ID.  She is also survived by brother, John H. Petersen, Malad; 22 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Second Ward Tabernacle.
