Ercil C. Henderson

WASHINTON TERRACE, Utah- Ercil C. Henderson, 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and special friend to many, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 10, 1996 of causes incident to age.

He was born March 25, 1916 in Teton, Idaho, a son of Jarvis and Clara Mae Carter Henderson.

He married his lovely wife Eula Dayley on March 25, 1936 in American Falls, Idaho. He was reared and educated in Rexburg and Preston, Idaho. He graduated from Pocatello High School. He had also lived in Spokane, Wash., and in the Ogden, Utah area from 1947 until his death.

He was a member of the LDS Church.

As a veteran of World War II he served with the U.S. Army Infantry, and was a Technician 5th Gade. He received the Asiatic Pacific Medal and the Victory Medal.

Mr. Henderson’s federal career began on May 25, 1937 with the Civilian Conservation Corps in Pocatello, Idaho. On November 1, 1942 he transferred to the Spokane was interrupted by his tour of military service.

Immediately following his tour of military service, he returned to the Spokane Army Air Depot, where he worked until coming to Hill Air Force Base, Utah, on October 20, 1947, where he worked in logistics in aerospace management.

He was a member of the FOE.

He touched the lives of people who knew him with his cheerful kindness. His lovely wife cherished him. To him, she sends the message, “My darling Ercil, I will miss you dearly until we two shall be one again.”

Surviving are his wife, of Washington Terrace, Utah; three daughters, Joan and Ray J. Maxwell, Redmond Wash,, Joyce and Robert McKean, Roy, Utah and Janice and Mikhail John, Washington Terrace, Utah; his son-in-law, Norman Anderson, Seattle, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, an (sic) two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Judy Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Interment will be in Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, Ogden, Utah.
