EMILY HELEN VAUGHAN MORGAN

Emily Helen Vaughan Morgan, 96, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on July 2, 2011 in Rigby, Idaho.

Helen was born in Malad, Idaho on June 9, 1915, a daughter of Thomas Edwin and Carrie Adelia Clark Vaughan. She lived in Malad the majority of her life before moving to Rigby in 1993 to be near family. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions in the Relief Society, Primary and scouting programs. Her membership on the Stake Primary Board enriched her life and allowed her to share her talents and skills with young people.

She avidly pursued her interest in genealogy and provided many hours of service at the Family History Center in Malad. She generously shared her extensive knowledge of the history of the Malad Valley with family and friends.

Helen loved to read, which resulted in a large book collection. She demonstrated and shared her artistic talent through her cooking, sewing and quilting.

Helen married Lewis E. Morgan on May 31, 1938. They divorced in 1972.

Her two daughters, Christine Gillies, San Diego, CA, and Virginia Moss, Rigby, ID, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren survive her.

Her parents, one sister, one brother, seven half-brothers, one half-sister and many close friends preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held on August 6, 2011 at the Rigby 4th-6th Ward, Rigby, ID.
