SODA SPRINGS- Elvon H. John, 70, of Soda Springs died early Thursday, October 19, 1995, at the Pocatello Regional Medical Center.
 He was born December 19, 1924, in Portage, Utah, a son of Henry and Ruth Hoskins John. He grew up and was educated in Shelley, and during World War II served in the Marine Corps, serving in China and Guam.
 On January 19, 1947, he married Alice lee Bradley in Shelley. They had lived in Conda, where he was employed by J.R.Simplot for several years. After suffering a stoke in 1980 he moved to Soda Springs, where he has since resided. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-Day Saints. His enjoyment came in spending time with his family, camping, riding in the mountains.
 He is survived by his wife, Alice H. John, of Soda Springs; three sons and their wives, Daniel Earl and Nora John of Pocatello, Brent W. and Kim John of Soda Springs, and Patrick B. and Kelly John of Bend, Oregon; one daughter and husband, Kay Lee and Bryan Bowels of Soda Springs; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Laverne John of Blackfoot and Ronald John of Paso Robles, California; and two sisters, Opal Korth of Blackfoot and Inez Edwards of St. Petersburg, Florida.
  Funeral Services will be held Oct. 23, at 11 a.m. In the Soda Springs LDS Fist Ward Chapel, 361 S. Third E., with Bishop Mark R. Sanders officiating. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:45 a.m. To 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Shelley City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allen-Sims Funeral Home of Soda Springs.
