Elaine Manning Potter, 96, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009 in Tremonton, Utah. She was born September 6, 1913, the daughter of George and Eliza Jane Reddish Manning.
Elaine was raised in Farmington and graduated from Davis High School in 1932. She resided in Farmington until she joined the Navy and was stationed in New Orleans and Germany. She served during World War 11.
She was later employed as a telephone operator, as a mechanic at Hill Air Force Base and at the library at Davis High.
She married John D. Potter on June 25, 1979 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He passed away on September 15, 2000.
Elaine was a member of the LDS Church and enjoyed golf, bowling, and handiwork.
Survived by stepsons, John David Potter, Mountain Green, UT.; and Richard Bryan potter, Malad, ID; five step-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister, Lucille Manning Potter, Garland, UT.
Preceded in death by her husband, John, six brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Farmington City Cemetery, 285 S. 200 E. where military honors will be accorded. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.
