Edna Fredrickson Bolingbroke

BOLINGBROKE, EDNA FREDRICKSON, November 13, 1909 – February 12, 2004

Edna Fredrickson Bolingbroke, 94, a longtime resident of Moscow, died February 12, 2004 at Good Samaritan Village.

Born November 13, 1909 to Charles and Sarah Fredrickson, she was raised in Malad, Idaho. Her grandfather, Peter Fredrickson, was a member of the first Idaho State Legislature in 1890. She attended Idaho State College in Pocatello, ID.

She married her high school sweetheart, David Henry Bolingbroke, and in 1933 moved to Lewiston, Idaho, where she and David lived until 1949, when they moved to Moscow.

She was a member of MOKEPAHRECA, Gray Ladies, Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star, Gritman Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Moscow Ladies Elks Golf Assn., Library Bridge and Duplicate bridge groups.

For many years, she was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels and an ardent supporter of the University of Idaho Vandal Boosters. She enjoyed bowling, watching the Seattle Mariners, playing bridge and golf, and was proud of the hole-in-one she made on the eighth hole at the Moscow Elks Golf Course on May 29, 1975. The family’s annual fishing trip on the North Fork of the Clearwater River and vacation at the Oregon coast were highlights for her each summer.

She delighted in spending time with her family and, after David’s death in 1976, traveled extensively to many parts of the world.

She is survived by her three children, Donald David Bolingbroke, Beverly Jean Bolingbroke Shaffer and her husband Butch, and Dr. Louise Bolingbroke Kremkau and her husband Barry; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews

Memorial service will be held February 21 at Good Samaritan Village.
