Edith Mary Jones was born on August 24, 1904, in Malad City, the youngest of five children to the
family of Zephaniah William and Ellen Jones. She lost her parents and two of her sisters at a early age.
Her brother, Thomas, was 18 years older, which made his daughter Vivan Jones-Miller, a perfect playmate. Vivan and Edith were life long friends.

Edith was one of Charlotte K. Evans’ piano students for a time. She was not very good, she said, but she certainly admired Charlotte and learned from her. In her late teens, she worked for a time in Pocatello, then followed her sister , Hattie, to California where she met and married Frank Zone’, a skilled journeyman cabinet maker. They had one daughter, Norma, a musician and teacher. One was a visit to the Malad area four years ago for a reunion with the Fry family.

Services were held in Sunnyvale, and she was entered into rest December 7, 1995, at Inglewood Cemetery in Inglewood, California. She is survived by her living daughter Norma, and son-in-law Robert W. parsons, of San Jose, as well as nieces and nephews and many loving friends. A resident of Sunnyville, California, since 1977, she was 91.
