Earl A. Rose

Earl A. Rose, 79, passed away August 14, 2014, at his home surrounded by family. He was born August 10, 1935, to Arthur E. and Lucy B. Rose. He married Verleen Baker in the Salt Lake Temple on May 3, 1956. Dad attended Weber County schools, graduating from Weber High. He served in the Army as the Korean War was winding down. Dad worked at HAFB as a Computer Programmer; he led out on many new technologies in his field. He finished his career with the Defense Logistics Agency. Dad always loved his job and the people that he worked with. After retiring, Dad switched gears. He purchased a farm in Malad, Idaho, and enjoyed learning the art of raising hay. As with any endeavor Dad tackled, he excelled. His hay fields are impeccable. Dad also enjoyed hunting, fishing, black Labradors, and the beauty of nature, but more than anything Dad loved and enjoyed his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his precious wife, Verleen, and his children, Mark (Tami), Brett (Charlene), and Lori (Dale Rasmussen). Dad was also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren with twin great grandsons on the way. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to Brittany and Jilleen for their kind and compassionate hospice care. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 18 at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. in Malad.
