Dwight Daniel Sheridan

Dwight Daniel Sheridan, 92 passed away peacefully in Brea, California on March 28, 2017.

Dan was born on August 19, 1924, in Sheridan, Wyoming to Daniel and Gladys (Colby) Sheridan. He graduated from Clearmont High School, Clearmont, Wyoming in 1943. Eight days after his graduation he joined the U.S. Navy on May 28, 1943 and was released with an Honorable Discharged on April 23, 1946. He was always very honored and proud to have served his county.

He met and married the love of his life Emily Louise Davis, on July 20, 1946, in Pocatello, Idaho. For the next 64 years, they shared their love for each other and their four surviving children, Sandra (Richard) Bastainelli, Fullerton, CA; Danice (Carl) Raff, Brea, CA; Dan (Susan Patterson) Sheridan, Seattle WA; and Jean (Marc) Clugston, Red Lodge, MT. They were blessed with eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

He was a salesman at RJM Steel Company, Los Angeles, CA; Steelco, Salt Lake City, UT. He retired and moved back to their beloved home in Malad, ID in 1983.

He proudly served as the Commander of the VFW Post 1944, La Puente CA and was a member of the American Legion, Malad, ID.

He was preceded in death by his wife Emily Davis Sheridan, January 2010, his son in-law Richard Bastianelli September 1994, his parents, three brothers, Ardell, Allen, Vincent Sheridan and one sister Shirley Stednick.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Malad city Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. from 1-1:45 prior to going to the cemetery.
