Estep, Douglas Kent – 11 Aug 1942
Tremonton- Douglas Kent Estep, 52, died Thursday Jan. 5, 1995 near Siler City New Mexico of injuries sustained in a airplane accident.
He was born Aug.11, 1942, in Garland, a son of James and Sarah Effie Archibald Estep. He married Elaine Mansfield in Malad, Idaho; they were later divorced. He married Myrna Loy Rogers, March 15, 1977 in Lincoln City, Oregon.
Doug had lived in Plymouth and Tremonton and was a graduate of Bear River High School. He was a retired employee of Contel and GTE where he worked for 28 years. He was presently employed by Midstates Consultants, with whom he traveled the Western United States for the past three years. He was the president of ITPA (Retired Telephone workers) and was a member of the Tremonton City Planning Commission.
He was a High Priest in the Tremonton 4th LDS Ward.
Surviving are his wife of Tremonton, two sons and two daughters and their spouses, Troy (Julie) Estep, Malad: Becky Rogers (Jeff) Reese, Tremonton: Tammi Rogers Haire (Dennis), Hartsville, South Carolina; 12 grandchildren, two brothers, Odeen Estep, Plymouth; Lowell Estep, Tremonton; two sisters, Bonnie Stevens, Tremonton, Marilyn Secrist, Woodbridge, Virginia.
He was proceeded in death by one brother, Donald.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 11, 1995, 11 a.m. At the Tremonton Stake Center, 660 North 300 East, with Bishop Bryce Udy, officiating. Friends call Tuesday 6 to 8:30 p.m. And Wednesday, from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. At Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 1st East, Tremonton, Burial Hyrum Cemetery.

Box Elder man among victims
A Tremonton man was one of the three people killed in an airplane crash last week in New Mexico.
Douglas Estep, 52, an employee for Mid-State Consultant Inc.., was aboard the company’s six-passenger plane when it crashed during an emergency landing Thursday, killing two passengers and the pilot.
The pilot reported having engine trouble shortly after takeoff from the Silver City/Garnt County Airport about 6:30 p.m. The plane was in route to Arizona.
Estep had worked for Mid-State Consultant Inc., a telecommunication engineering firm for three years.
