Douglas Henry Anderson

Douglas Henry Anderson, born October 19, 1927 in Stone, Idaho, to parents, Ross Arbon Anderson and Helen Henry Anderson, passed away March 21, 2006 in Kennewick, Washington. Mr. Anderson was 78 years old.
Doug was the first born of seven sons and is survived by five of his brothers: Ross, Jr. and wife, Bonna, of Stone, Idaho; Carl and wife, Marilyn, of Shepherd, Montana; Dewey Wray and wife, Rena, of North Ogden, Utah; Andrew and wife, Marty, of Stone, Idaho; and Lynn and wife, Connie, of Snowville, Utah. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Joe.
Doug married Mary Lou Rice in 1948 in Malad City, Idaho. To them were born Shauna Marie (Lynn) of Lancaster, California, and Douglas Michael Anderson of Bakersfield, California.
His son, Mike and wife, Linda are the parents of four of Doug’s five grandchildren. They are Dyllana, Dawn, Melissa and Annie. His grandson, Trey, also preceded him in death. Doug also has two great-grandchildren, Kaylinn, 9 and Keith, 23 months.
Doug leaves a large, loving group of nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces and friends from Idaho, Utah, California and Washington.
Doug moved from Idaho with his young family in 1954 and headed for California. In 1975 he moved from California to Kennewick, Washington, where he remained until his death. Though he left Utah, Idaho and California, you only had to walk into his tiny apartment to know that he took all of us with him. The walls were covered with pictures and memorabilia of his family and friends from everywhere.
To his many friends, my brother, Mike and I would like to thank all of you who shared in our dad’s life. Thank you for befriending this wonderful man who was a cowboy, rancher, farmer, horse trainer, leather tooler, carpenter, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, friend and an all-around good guy. Doug has affected many peoples’ lives and he will be sorely missed.
Funeral services were held in Malad City at Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. at 12 noon on Tuesday, March 28. Interment was in Snowville, Utah.
