IDAHO FALLS — In loving memory of Dorothy Richardson Clayton, 58, of Ucon, Idaho, who passed away Nov. 4, 2001, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls of complications of multiple sclerosis.
She was born Oct. 19, 1943, in Malad, Idaho, Almira Cole and Clawson Clarence Richardson. Her childhood years were spent in Pocatello and later as a teen she moved to Ammon. She graduated from Bonneville High School in 1961.
The summer before going to Ricks College she met her eternal companion, Harlan W. Clayton, and was married on June 15, 1962, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.’
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A mother in Zion of five daughters and one special son, she enjoyed being home and perfecting her homemaking skills. Studying organization, she was the author and lecturer of “Time Management for the Homemaker.” She enjoyed traveling with her husband, listening to beautiful music, reading uplifting books, and playing the piano, serving others alongside her husband in church assignments. She was a compassionate missionary and dedicated genealogist. She touched many lives and sincerely wanted to help others. She had a fervent testimony of Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice for all mankind. Her example of His teachings was evident in her life and her happiness came from living His gospel.
She is survived by the following: Husband, Harlan W. Clayton of Ucon; children: Beth (Kerwyn) Smith of Vancouver, Washington, Kelly (Kyle) Young of Yakima, Washington, Renae (Jeff) Bliss of Lehi, Utah, Valerie (Brandon) Lance of Ucon, Idaho; Kimberly (Jedd) Hill of Salt Lake City, Utah; and son, Gregory H. “Buzz” Clayton of Ucon, Idaho; the proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren; and her parents, Clawson and Almira Richardson; brothers, Wendell (Karla) Richardson, and Grant (Susan) Richardson, all of Ammon.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at the Ucon LDS Stake Center, 2967 E. 105 N., in Ucon, with Bishop Thomas H. Hughes of the Ucon First Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends this evening, Tuesday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., in Idaho Falls, and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
