Funeral Services For Donald Vaughan

Impressive funeral services were held Sunday in the Second ward
Tabernacle for Donald Vaughan who died at Preston Thursday as a result of double Pneumonia. Elmer Lloyd of the second ward bishopric presided at the services at which H. I. Mills offered the invocation. Musical numbers included a solo by Ren Dives; song, Tovey Brothers; duet, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W Ward Jr., accompanied by Miss June Evans. Speakers included E E. Richards, T. J. Upton of Ogden’ ‘ Bishop J N Larson of Preston and Bishop Thomas D. Evans.

Closing remarks were made by Mr. Lloyd and the benediction was given by H. O. Kent. Interment was in the Malad cemetery with Bishop J. N. Larson of Preston, dedicating the grave.

Donald Vaughn was born in Malad, Jan.. 27, 1903, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Vaughn. He spent his childhood here and attended the local schools. He married Miss Gladys Swenson and they became the parents of three children. They have made their home in Preston for a number of years.

Mr. Vaughn is survived by his wife, and son Donald and daughters Lois and Carol; his mother, Mrs. Eli Vaughn, one brother David Vaughn and two sisters. Mrs. George Daniels Jr., and Mrs. Ernest Spencer of Ogden.

Out of town people who attended the service were: Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Upton and daughter Helen, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Swenson of Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Ballard of Tremonton, Mr. and Mrs. Bartell Swenson of Salt Lake City. Mr.
and Mrs. Royal Swenson of Arbon, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Mattson. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Lucherine of Logan; Bishop J. N. Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stokes. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Day, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Martin of Preston.
