NOBLE, DONALD ‘BUDDY’, July 21, 1916 – October 2, 2006

Donald “Buddy” Noble, 90, of Preston, Idaho passed away on Monday, October 2, 2006. He and his wife of 65 years, Norma, were preparing lunch together when he died. Don had been happy, active and healthy up to the day of his death.

He was born July 21, 1916 in St. John, Idaho, son of Margaret and Don Noble. Don had three sisters, Margaret, Isabelle and Kathryn, and three brothers, Henry, Neal and Calvin.

Don married Norma Lou Jones of McCammon, Idaho, and they had three children, Donna, Tony and Melody. Early in their marriage he served overseas in World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army.

Don and Norma moved their family to Delano, CA where he worked as a lineman for the Southern California Edison Co. for 16 years.

Don and Norma returned to their beloved Idaho after their children were grown where they lived on the Jones family farm outside of Inkom. The last 14 years have been spent in Preston.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Lou; his sister, Kathryn, his daughters, Donna and Melody; and his grandchildren, Matie, Scott, Michael, Dawn, Paige, Dyan and Marty. There are 14 great-grandchildren. His son Tony preceded him in death.

Donald was a gregarious, hardworking man. He loved literature, animals and the out of doors. His family and friends will miss his warmth, quick wit and endless list of quotes.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 6 at noon at the Preston 1st/5th/8th Ward LDS Church. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 7-8 at the church and Friday from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. prior to services. There will be a graveside service at 3 p.m. at the St. John Cemetery in Malad.
