Dewey Campbell

WESTON – Dewey Franklin Campbell, 90, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1990, in Ogden, Utah.

He was born April 1, 1899 in Weston to Fredrick Robert and Idosha Pearl Haskins.

He married Mable Betty Carlson Jan., 14, 1919 in Logan, Utah. She died Aug. 12, 1928. He then married Alice Irene Lloyd Sept. 26, 1929 in Preston. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She died Feb 20, 1984.

He was a farmer, coached church softball, was a home teacher for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a baseball umpire for many years.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. Vance Campbell, Farmington, Utah, and Sterling Campbell, Ogden, Utah; four daughters, Mrs. C.R. (Maxine) Anthony, Ogden, Betty Hensley, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Douglas (ValDean) Fisher, Grace, and Mrs. Allan (Paula) Davis, Corvallis, Ore.; 32 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Oscar Campbell, Weston, and Reed Campbell of Rigby; six sisters, Mar Bunn, Logan, Utah, Selma Jensen, Blackfoot, Carrie Fife, Boise, Eva Jack, Bountiful, Utah, Marva Yanky, of California and Ruth Jensen, Mesa, Ariz. One son, Therrall, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Saturday at noon in the Weston Ward Chapel with Bishop Michael Smith conducting. Friends may call at the ward chapel Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Weston Cemetery, with services under the direction of Webb Funeral Home of Preston.
