Debra Jean Mooney

Debra “Debbie” Jean Mooney, a beloved spouse, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend passed peacefully on April 28, 2026, at the age of 68, surrounded by her family, friends, and an unmeasurable amount of love.
Born on March 15, 1958, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Kenneth and Lela Mooney. From a young age, Debbie’s spirit was vibrant and full of determination. Though she left school early, she later demonstrated her unwavering resolve by obtaining her GED and pursuing further education at Idaho State University, where she majored in machining.
Debbie devoted many years to her career as a Fab operator at AMI Semiconductor. Her strong work ethic and dedication were evident to all who worked alongside her. Even when faced with the challenges of rheumatoid arthritis, Debbie’s courage and positivity remained unshaken, inspiring those around her.
Debbie’s heart found its true home with her mate of 33 years, Jerry Wilson. Together, they built a home with love, laughter, and shared adventures. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: Ricky (Melinda) Schmidtgal, Jeremiah (Brittney) Schmidtgal, Jessica (Carter) Armstrong, and Brooke (Bernard) Stecklein. Her siblings, Jerrie, Vickie, Cathe, Jim, Steve, Dennis, and Bart, as well as her 20 adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Her love for the outdoors was profound, and her happiest moments were spent outdoors with her family and friends. Whether it was the sizzle of family BBQs, the tranquility of camping at Indian Springs or Lava Hot Springs, or simple enjoyment of fishing at East Fork. Racing was always a passion of hers. She spent many years sharing a racecar with her brother, Bart, out at the Pocatello Speedway. Even when she could no longer race, you could still catch her every Saturday, out with the family, cheering him on from the sideline.
Debbie was small but mighty, a true fighter who embodied strength and resilience throughout her life. Her infectious laughter and love of jokes brought joy to everyone who knew her. Above all, her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family, always eager to create lasting memories with each one of them.
In remembrance of Debbie’s remarkable life, family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of life. A service will be held on May 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Inkom Cemetery, located at 3303 N. Rapid Creek Rd, Inkom, ID 83245. Following the service, a celebration will take place at Indian Springs Resort and RV in American Falls, Idaho, from May 8th to May 10th. Guests are welcome to reserve a spot for the weekend or just join for the Celebration of Life lunch on Saturday at 12:30 PM.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shown love and support during this difficult time. In honoring Debbie’s memory, let us remember her laughter, her love for life, and her unwavering devotion to family. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
