DOWNEY – David “Dave” Treasure, 88, longtime area rancher, died Friday, Feb. 18, 1994, in the Oneida County Nursing Home in Malad. He was born Dec. 12, 1905, at Marsh Center, a son of James and Ada Jane Wakley Treasure.

He married Mae Elizabeth Evans April 28, 1931 in Malad, and their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She died Jan. 17, 1963. He later married Margaret Hill, and she died April 16, 1986. Mr. Treasure had lived most of his life as a farmer and rancher in the Downey area. He also had lived several years in St. John. During the past 20 years he had spent the winters in Yuma. Ariz.

He is survived by four children and spouses: Mark and Nancy Treasure of Logan, Utah; Debbie Treasure of Logan, Utah; Liz and Rich Vaughan of McCammon; Bonnie and Farrel Jenkins of Malad; 18 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 21, at noon in the Downey LDS Ward chapel with Bishop Rex Daniels officiating. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, Sunday, Feb. 20, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Monday at the church in Downey from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Downey City Cemetery.
