DAVID KYLE KROGH

1958 – 2023

David Kyle Krogh of McCammon, Idaho passed away peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. He was 65 years old. He used both his names and was known as Dave to some, and Kyle to others. But he was loved by all who knew him.

Dave was born October 22, 1958, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Karen Hansen Brooks and Elmer Leroy Krogh. He attended Skyview High School in Logan, Utah. He joined the US Army when he was 18 where he completed his high school education. Dave served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg North Carolina. He then served in Operation Just Cause in Panama in 1989, was honorably discharged, and immediately re-enlisted to serve in Operation Desert Storm in Kuwait. He was later medically discharged from the Army.

Throughout life, Dave was known as a humble, good Samaritan. He often helped strangers and anyone in need, giving freely of his time and resources and welcoming people into his home. He surely did more kind acts of service without fanfare or credit than anyone will ever know. He loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. He played piano, guitar, trumpet, and drums and performed with his guitar at restaurants throughout Utah and Wyoming. As a gifted songwriter, he always had a new tune to share with family and loved ones. Dave loved Halloween, University of Utah Football, the Utah Jazz, gardening, and jamming with anyone who would play music with him. He surrounded himself with guitars and filled his life with music.

Dave lived in Murray, Utah for 20 years and 5 years ago moved to McCammon, Idaho. He kept a garden and helped people whenever he could. And in the end, the people he helped, helped him.

He married Amy Lee Ehr on May 30th, 1997. They divorced in 2003. He later married his junior high school sweetheart, ReNae Bennett, of Grace, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his father Elmer LeRoy Krogh of Powder Springs, Georgia, his grandparents Bruce and Norma Hansen of Providence, Utah, and his grandparents Charles and Mary Krogh of Salt Lake City, Utah. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Lamper, and granddaughter Kylee Cannon, his siblings, Robin (Sam) Davis, Kevin (Nancy) Krogh, Kari (Dan) Glahn, Steven (Debbie) Krogh, Kathryn Olsen, Kristin (Chris) Drysdale, Rick (Wendi) Krogh, Randy (Carrie) Krogh, Lauri (Kinley) Shell, Robert (Sharon) Krogh, and 48 nieces and nephews.

Dave will be missed and remembered for his infectious laugh and loving kindness. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 20th, 2023, at the Providence City Cemetery in Providence, Utah with help from Horsley Funeral Home in Malad, Idaho
