David D. Daniels, Sr. (Birth 3 Apr 1907/Death 29 Aug 1984)

David D. Daniels, Sr., 77, a former long-time Pocatello resident, died Wednesday night, August 29, 1984 at his daughter’s residence in Boise, Idaho following a brief illness.

He was born April 3, 1907 at Malad City, Idaho to David A. and Amelia Davis Daniels. The most part of his life was lived in Pocatello, until about eight months ago, he moved to Boise and made his home with his daughter.

On Feb. 5, 1927 he married Edna Adelia Evans and they made their home in Pocatello. She prceded (sp. preceded) him in death in 1981, and his son, David D. J., in 1982.

He was a long time employee of the Union Pacific Railroad Company and retired as an engineer in 1973 after 50 years of service. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Engineers Union. He enjoyed collecting antiques, especially U.P.R.R. memorabilia, reading, riding his motorcycle, and in earlier years fishing and camping.

He was an Elder in the LDS Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs William H. (Faye) Borton, Boise, Idaho; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs Mary Thomas.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, August 4, 1984 at 10:30 A.M. in the Manning Funeral Chapel with Bishop Dennis Michaelson officiating
