Our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Danette Mae Fisher Gafe, 45, was reunited with her cherished son, Courtney in Heaven following injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Monday, December 8, 1997.
She was born May 20, 1952 in Ogden, a daughter of Daniel Lloyd and Frances Mae Pagano Fisher.
She graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1970. During her school years she was a cheerleader and active in many activities. After graduating she lived in California for approximately 10 years. She worked as a secretary and computer specialist for TRW, Sony Corp. and Defense Depot Ogden.
On June 17, 1982, Danette married Kevin C. Gale in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in St. James Catholic Church on June 17, 1989. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Danette enjoyed nature and camping. She valued being with her family and friends and enjoyed watching her nephews play sports. She had a sincere love for animals, especially her dogs. Brandy and Nikki. Danette overcame many physical and emotional trials after her son’s death in a previous car accident. Her courage to heal and face life after Courtney’s death was an inspiration to all.
Danette was respected and loved by everyone who knew her. Her energetic, bubbly personality and warmth brought a smile to our faces. She was a very loving, caring person and a true friend and touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her warm, loving, generous spirit will be sorely missed.
Surviving are her husband, Kevin, of Ogden; her father and step-mother, Dan and Joyce Fisher, Malad, Idaho; one sister, Cheryle Johnson, Ogden; two step-brothers, Ray (RoLayne) Brown and Darin (Camala) Brown, both of Roy.
Danette was preceded in death by one son, Courtney, her mother, Frances, one brother-in-law, Darrell Johnson and her father-in-law, Spud Gale.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 12 Noon at St. James Catholic Church 495 North Harrison with Father William Flegge officiating.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. where Holy Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Interment will be in Ogden.
