Dan E. Anderson

Dan E. Anderson, 76, beloved husband, father and grandfather, of Malad City, Idaho, passed away August 3, 2005, in Malad City.

He was born September 20, 1928, a son of John William Anderson and Maude Evans Anderson. He was raised and educated in Malad and later attended the University of Idaho.

Dan married Cherril Waldron, his high school sweetheart and best friend, September 2, 1950, in Gwenford, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan L.D.S. Temple September 2, 1994.

He served honorably in the United States Air Force for 20 years with assignments in the U.S. and the Far East. Following his retirement in the grade of Major in 1972, he returned to Malad where he was the administrator for the Oneida County Hospital and later owner/manager of the Sears Catalog Store.

Dan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Cub Master, ward clerk, Sunday School presidency, MIA presidency and he was a faithful home teacher.

He is survived by his loving wife Cherril and eight children: Karen (Steve) Hockett, of Warner Robins, Georgia; Cherie Anderson of Tooele, Utah; Patricia (David) Showell of Stone, Idaho; Dan Anderson of Tooele, Utah; Sandra (Darrell) Jensen of Wasilla, Alaska; Lewis (Desi) Anderson of St. John, Idaho; Charles (Lara) Anderson of Liberty Lake, Washington; and Jocie (Steve) Reel of Ammon, Idaho. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Surviving brothers and sisters are William (Bill) Anderson, Marylin “Molly” Lusk, and Dave Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John (Jack) Anderson and Dean Anderson (twin); two sisters, Helen Browder and Alice Beth McCartin; and a son-in-law, Kipp Orton.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, August 10, at the Sixth Ward LDS Chapel.
