Dalam Evan Kent Jr. (Pappy) passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009.
Dalam was born in Malad, Idaho on November 6, 1935 to Dalam E. and May Taylor Kent. He was raised in Malad and Tremonton, was on the swim team and was a graduate of Bear River High. Dalam served two years in the Army stationed in Korea during the war.
Dalam loved to shoot trap and was a member of the Shooters’ Hall of Fame. He liked cat fishing (not trash fishing), hunting, and spending time outdoors. Dalam ran the starter gates for the chariot races. He was a member of the Fraternal Order Of The Eagles. Dalam retired from working in transportation at Thiokol and then worked for Box Elder County at the landfill.
He is survived by his daughter, Babra (Wayne) Hanegan; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and step children; Ronald Morris, Branda Futterman, Delena (Kevin) Christensen; sister, Carol Dickey, and special friend, Daisy Kent.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Karma Kent.
There will be a viewing at the Malad Gun Club, 459 South Main in Malad, located on the Oneida County Fairgrounds, on Thursday, November 19 from 6-8 p.m.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2009 at the Malad City Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.
