And the mother said; “I have reached the end of my journey, and I know that the end is better than the beginning, for my children can walk alone, and their children after them.” And the children said: “You will always walk with us, Mother, even when you have gone through the gates.” And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates closed after her. TO MOM by Coralie

The day that Daddy left this earth,
Your heart was broken and crushed in two.
We children tried to help and comfort you,
But loneliness filled each day through.

You buckled down and did your best,
Oh the years were hard when you were alone.
Until your health required us girls,
To take you into each of our homes.

Your sense of humor came shining through,
Our days were happy and lots of fun.
You kept us laughing no matter the problem,
Your smile was catching and touched everyone.

What love we felt as you wrapped yourself,
Around our hearts and our children too.
No greater blessing could have been ours,
To care for you these last years through.

Now we know our Dad has been waiting,
For your return as his companion and friend.
How blessed we are to have you as our Mother,
And we know someday we’ll be together again.

MISS ME

When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low.
Oh! Remember the love that we shared,
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take,
And each must take it alone.
See?, it’s all a part of the Master’s plan,
A step in the road to home.
So when you are lonely and sick of heart,
Go to the friends that we know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
Miss me but let me go.
