Clifford Sheldon “Whitey” Madsen, 65, Malad, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at his home, following a short battle with cancer.

He was born march 18, 1938 in Malad, a son of Clifford Dalton and Erma Reese Madsen. He married Marilyn Thomas on August 8, 1969 in Malad and they later divorced. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life.

He enjoyed traveling, ranching, outdoor recreation and going for coffee before the rooster crowed. He was always there to give a helping hand to those in need. He worked for Thiokol for several years until his retirement.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of the Malad Fourth Ward.

Sheldon is survived by his children, Sheldon “Monte” (Daniele) Madsen, Pocatello, Michael Brooks (Melissa) Madsen, Malad; and Emily Michelle Madsen (Jason Chelette), Malad; a sister Jeanne (Glen) Schwartz, Meridian, Idaho; eight grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and many aunts and uncles. “Whitey” was dearly loved and will be missed by all.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 24, 2003 at 12 o’clock noon in the Malad LDS Fourth Ward Chapel. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion Post #65.
