Clifford Dalton Madsen

MALAD — Clifford Dalton Madsen, 90, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2001, in Meridian, Idaho.
He was born September 17, 1910, in Cherry Creek, Idaho, a son of Franklin Oliver and Mary Dalton Madsen. He received his education in Samaria. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a high priest at the time of his death.
He married Erma Rees on October 1, 1936, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were the parents of four children, Sheldon, Dell, Jeanne and Jan.
Cliff lived and worked in the Malad area until 1965 when he and his family moved to Wendell, Idaho. He resided there until his retirement at age 75.
He lived in Twin Falls and Coeur d’Alene, returning to the Malad area in 1993. In December of 1999 he moved to Meridian because of health.
Clifford is survived by a son, Sheldon of Malad; daughter, Jeanne (Glen) Schwartz of Meridian; daughter-in-law, Sharon Madsen of Gooding; sister, Faye Ward of Malad; brother, DeWayne Madsen of Granite Falls, Washington.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Erma, in 1981; a daughter, Jan in 1966; a son, Dell, in 1994; and a great-granddaughter in 1999.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at 12 noon at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, where friends may call this evening, Monday, March 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday one hour before services.
