Clara Tippetts Cottam (Birth – July 13, 1898)

Clara Tippetts Cottam, 85, died Monday (12 September 1983) in McMinnville, Ore.

She was born July 13, 1898, in Oxford to William and Catherine Tippetts. She grew up and was educated in Richmond, Utah. She later moved to Snowville, Utah, to work.

While in Snowville she met William Ross Cottam and the two were married September 6, 1919, in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Cottam died May 1, 1970.

Mrs. Cottam has lived in Snowville, Malad, and Stone, moving to Oregon after her husband’s death. She was a member of the LDS Church and enjoyed quilting and doing handwork.

She is survived by three sons, William Keith, Amity, Ore., Neil LaMon, Malad, and Austin DeLon, McMinnville, Ore.; three daughters, Mrs. Amel (Zelda Maria) Funk, McMinnville, Mrs. Stanley (Emma Jean) Waldron, Amity, Ore., and Mrs. Orin (Gwenivere) Hatch, Roy, Utah; 35 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a brother, Austin Tippetts, Malad.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Snowville, Utah, LDS Ward Chapel.

Burial was in the Snowville Cemetery.
