Carolyn Nielsen Neal

Carolyn Nielsen Neal, age 89, passed from this earth onto the arm of her husband of 67 years and her heavenly father’s the afternoon of October 20, 2014. She was born in Holbrook, Idaho, November 10, 1924, to James Peter and Olive Olson Nielsen. She was the fourth child in a family of five. She married Ferrell O. Donald Neal in the Logan LDS Temple on December 18, 1941. Carolyn was an accomplished cook, quilter and embroider. She enjoyed her callings to do Genealogy and Indexing. She also loved being a Primary Teacher and Relief Society Visiting Teacher and served as Relief Society President. She and Dad were Stake Missionaries. Carolyn was an avid Jazz and San Antonio Spurs fan

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ferrell, daughter, Donna Beecher, parents, three brothers and one sister.

Surviving are children Sharon (Jay) Carlisle and Suzan (Ralph) Clark, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and brothers-in-law Norman Wadsworth, Hollis V. (Karen) Neal and sister-in-law Darlene Nielsen.

Carolyn and Ferrell were dedicated to their family; teaching and instilling hard work and self-reliance. Carolyn loved mathematics and challenges. She had great faith and was always proud of her heritage.

The Neal family wishes to convey their heartfelt appreciation to the Malad, and Stone, Idaho and Snowville, Utah communities for their dedication and unselfish acts of kindness to our Mother and Father.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 27 at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W 300 N. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday evening at the funeral home from 6-7:00 p.m. and again on Monday morning from 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery.
