Byron J. Marshall, (1943)

Byron J. Marshall

January 16, 1943 – December 29, 2023

It is with great sadness and joy, that we announce that Byron J Marshall of Malad, Idaho has won his fight against Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Byron was born on a cold winter’s day on January 16, 1943, in Driggs, Idaho. He passed away December 29, 2023, at his daughter’s home in Covington, LA, St Tammany Parish.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of almost 62 years, Ruth Raikes Marshall, his four children and their families: Guy (Lori) Marshall, Julie Marshall, Holly (Dean) Robinson, and Michael (Sarah) Marshall. He has fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren that love and adore him. Byron is also survived by his older brother, Darld Marshall, who refers to him lovingly as Little One.

Byron loved his family fiercely. He had many great adventures and made many memories doing what he loved to do: fishing, hunting and anything in the great outdoors. He was a genuine great example to all who knew him and he was well loved and respected by all who came across his path. His fun-loving personality and his great sense of humor drew people to him, and he could also express his displeasure with one cutting look. He will be greatly missed and remembered by many. A celebration of life will be scheduled later in the spring.
